Today a wonderful thing happened. I got a call from a woman in Pennsylvania; she asked for me by name and she seemed very excited; she said that in fact she was very much on cloud nine. She got quickly to the point and told her story simply and clearly: this woman is a psychic who does readings for her friends and meditates but does not want to use her abilities in a big way. Two years ago, she heard a little voice in her head, which said clearly: "Pray for Petrene Soames". She wrote the name down; she had no idea if she was spelling it right or if this really was a person, male or female.

Over the next two years, she had the same voice giving her the same message from time to time: "Pray for Petrene Soames". She told a number of people about the message, and they asked her what she planned to do. She simply decided to include "Petrene Soames" in her prayers and asked that Petrene Soames received whatever was needed.

Two years later, she was going through Fate magazine for a friend who was looking for a particular holistic service. She came across an advertisement and almost did not read it, but then the name "Petrene Soames" jumped out at her from the page. She was beside herself with amazement, excitement and filled with a sense of wonder and joy. She called me and told me her story.

I thanked her very much and told her that I am grateful for her prayers and support. I told her about my work and that I have dedicated much of my life to help others grow, heal and fulfill their potential and to realize how amazing we all truly are. I can use all of the support, positive thoughts and prayers that are offered, every kind wish, every small part of love and each openness of spirit, is welcomed, valued and used in powerfully positive ways, because it is not about me - Petrene Soames - the person. It is about the message and what we are all here to do, for you am I and I am you.

So thank you one and all for any positive thoughts prayers and support given to Petrene Soames. I believe that together we make all of the difference.

2. True Magic - Truly yours... by Petrene Soames

The manifestation of magic often happens when you least expect it to. Sometimes magic happens when powerful emotions come into play. This often involves more than one person's participation in the magical process. If we look closely at magical events, moments and happenings, we will see that they don't really just happen. It's the same as "luck". Luck is only an expression and justification for the dismissal of events and catalysts, which have not been explored and realized yet. With luck and with magic, sequences of events do take place. These may seem good, bad or both. Genuine magic involves somewhere on some level purity of heart and noble intentions as taught by great legends such as King Arthur, the Sword Excalibur, the Round Table and the lovely lady Guinevere. Noble intentions may involve momentarily letting go, putting aside the ego, the "I", because what we really want and need is so much different and even simpler than we imagine.

When we are really in the flow of life, magic happens naturally, because truly it is there to happen all around us and within us all of the time. The fact that magic seems to happen so rarely only shows us how very out of touch with life and ourselves that we are. Some people seem more magical than others. Amazing and magical things seem to happen to them more often. They are simply more in the flow, more spontaneous and more open to magic than the rest of us.

If you want to bring magic into your life, I strongly suggest the following:

  • Face your fears.
  • Get rid of everything you no longer want, need, or that does not work in your life.
  • Be spontaneous. Remember things do not have to make sense and you don't have to have reasons for doing them.
  • Break patterns and habits.
  • Sing, draw, write, play and sleep. Express yourself.
  • Be open to new thoughts, ways, peoples and ideas.
  • Love yourself without conditions.

Go ahead, believe in yourself and let the magic be!

3. Ten Tips for self-healing...

Line

  1. Make time for yourself
  2. Find new and different ways to express yourself. At the very least, write down your feelings and your thoughts twice a week.
  3. Love and accept yourself NOW without any conditions.
  4. Realize that your aches and pains and health problems are not the same as anyone else's; they are unique because YOU are a unique and individual being.
  5. Use positive affirmations every day such as: "I am letting go of everything that I no longer need" and "No more pain".
  6. Visualize yourself as standing tall and straight, feeling and looking great, radiating light and good health from the inside out.
  7. Clear from your mind each and every thought that says that you cannot heal yourself.
  8. Understand why you get ill; ask your body what it wants and needs and what needs to be changed.
  9. Read The Essence of Self-Healing by Petrene Soames.
  10. Follow and use Self Healing exercises; connect with the healer that you really already are.

Comments from the readers of The Essence of Self-Healing…

Your book arrived yesterday afternoon as we were out working in the yard. Soon as I came in, I opened the box and am so thrilled to tell you, I just didn't want to put it down!! I'm reading it slowly as there is a lot to absorb. I can't believe this is your first book, I'm still on the first chapter but you sound like an experienced author. You just flow with all your information. I can see where I will be reading this book many times over. I hope you are pleased with the way it turned, as I said I'm still in the beginning and already I have learned things that I had questions about. You should be very proud of yourself. Here's a big hug for both of you and all your hard work!! Kitty hugs from ours to yours. Congratulations on your book! Maxine - Las Vegas.

Finally, the eagerly awaited book is here! And what a gift it is! To me this book is a gentle, yet persistent reminder that wellness and self-healing are ever such timely concepts and, definitely here to stay. Clearly written, it is 'multifunctional' in being informative and factual about current trends in medicine and health care as well as in presenting alternative possibilities, and the pros and cons of all of the above. Examples and exercises follow. They address so many of life's challenges. They will speak to just about everybody in one way or another. I have already consulted the latter, especially in the 'letting go' department of my life -- with total success -- and drawn strength from other people's experiences described here. This book will become a best friend to serve as a daily guide in our pursuit of health and happiness! It will be read many times over, wholly or in part. Congratulations, Petrene! I will treasure your book -- a true masterwork! You have shown us how to re-claim our inherent power for mastery in all areas of our life. The world will be a better place for it. Eva, Houston.

Alex was a working psychic and believed in the power of healing. He was in his late fifties when he got sad and heartsick. He started to cough a lot, put on weight, and withdrew within himself. He also started to express a lot of anger to those around him and closest to him. This made everyone feel anxious and sad, because he had always been a very kind and balanced person. Alex came from a generation of people who worshiped the family doctors almost as if they were gods. The doctor always knew best. No one in those times would dream of arguing with a doctor or presumed for a moment to know better than the expert. During that time, in the 1940's and 1950's, penicillin and antibiotics were miracle tablets. They cured everything. This added to the wonder, esteem and awe in which doctors were held. Although Alex could captivate audiences by saying things such as "I am everything," and genuinely knew and believed this about himself, when it came to his own bouts of illness, it was entirely another matter. He had such a built-in indoctrination about doctors knowing best, he could not get on with the process of healing himself. He continued to help others with their own problems, but kept visiting the doctors for medication without questioning their recommendations.

Alex was married to a woman who felt insecure a lot of the time. She believed that her husband was very attractive to other women, and she felt very lucky to be with him. Her insecurity came from an unhappy childhood and two previous abusive marriages. Alex, who was one of twelve children of a poor family, had never got full attention in his early years, and he was feeding his wife's beliefs and insecurities so that she would always be paying full attention to him. This kept her in control. Meanwhile, she was happy, subconsciously, that he was sick, because she felt she could then love, nurture and control Alex and the situation. There was no way in which he would run off and leave her while he was ill, which had always been her greatest fear. So she nursed him, fed him with sweet cakes, puddings and other not especially healthy foods, and talked in hushed tones when he took naps during the day. She became very protective of him and his poor health, letting family members and friends know how ill he was, and asking them not to let him get upset or angry in any way, as this would worsen his condition.

The result was that Alex got very old very fast. He put on weight and became more and more convinced over the next 18 months that he was very ill. His doctors tried one antibiotic and steroid after another to help fight infections and to clear his lungs, which, they assured Alex, had been very damaged. At one point he was diagnosed as having lung disease. Alex faithfully continued taking his medications over a period of two years, never seeming to get any better. Despite flu shots each winter, he still had bouts of flu and various other chest problems. Alex also got angrier with himself, his wife and everyone else around him. If he upset anyone, they would swallow their hurt, because, after all, he was ill. So Alex lost touch with other peoples' boundaries. Expressing anger, hurting himself and others became normal and almost acceptable for him.

Finally his doctor admitted that he had been misdiagnosed. Alex didn't really have lung disease after all. Although his lungs had not gotten any better, they hadn't gotten any worse either over the two-year period. They were at a standstill. The doctor then recommended another specialist, who later said that he could not really say what was wrong with Alex either. The doctors however were willing to try new medications.

Alex called me at this time. He seemed almost amused at being used as a guinea pig. I asked him how long he expected to be on the various medications. He said: "Forever. All of my life, I suppose." I asked him later, during another conversation, what he thought of his situation after all that had happened. He admitted that he did not have much faith now in professional opinions and it would probably just be a matter of time before he stopped taking all the medications and started to heal himself. He knew very well that he could heal himself, and that his health condition was up to him. He had just gone a long way away from himself, giving a lot of his power to others.

Alex had finally arrived back with himself and his own self-belief, but not until he had let go of the notion that others should and did know better than him about his health. As an intelligent man, Alex later was bemused at how his own upbringing had led him to have such a strong doctor/guru superpower concept, while at the same time he had always had such an equally strong belief in himself. But still, it had happened.

5. Questions and Answers…

a) From Manuel, New York - Via Internet
What is Déjà vu? I get it a lot and sometimes I feel out of place, what does this mean?

The common believe is that Déjà vu indicates that you have been in a time and a place before and already lived those same events. For example, people often simply believe when they have been in a certain country or place that they never visited before, yet feel so at home and so familiar with right through to recognizing people and places there that this means that they have lived in this place before in a previous time or even parallel time.

Personally I believe that we are indeed living the past, present and future at the same time and sometimes we go to other times and events and live them so that when we do actually physically go to those places and events again they seem totally familiar. Individuals as well as scientists and physicists have realized more and more that time does not exist; in fact daily we realize more and more that nothing is only as it seems. I think that the most important thing for you to do when you have such situations come up is to question yourself and trust your own answers. We are also without doubt multi-dimensional beings living in a multi-dimensional reality. It makes sense then that we can move in time and often that timeframes will overlap for us. The fact that you are going through these experiences more and more often tells me that you need to listen to the opinions of others but go more and more deeply into yourself and what life and reality is for you and how it works.

b) From Melissa - Via Internet
-- How can we talk to the dead if they have been reincarnated?

The simple answer to this question is that reincarnation and death are both concepts and that perhaps there is no life or death but that each are the same, and we are alive and dead at the same time, that it is a continuous experience rather than two separate parts. If we believe that we are multi-dimensional beings then this will make sense. The important thing I feel to do is to look at all points of views and beliefs and then form your own from your feelings as well as your thinking. The very fact that you are questioning shows that you are doing this, which is a positive thing.

-- Do the dead say that there was a Judgment day?

I have not spoken with anyone - who has passed on - who has expressed this to me, and at the same time I have not asked. Generally speaking those who have passed on seem to view their life's not so much as good or bad but in a more holistic view and more of an understanding of the why and wherefores than many people here on earth. At the same time not all people follow this pattern either. I have spoken to people who have been just as they were here and not become especially enlightened or gained more understanding of their life's; so I would not say that death is a guarantee of enlightenment.

6. Vegan Recipe by Etal: Onion Soup… So simple and SO GOOD!

Line

I like simple recipes. I also like to shop at my local supermarket, so all the ingredients listed below should be easy to find.

You need...

  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 1 pound onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup regular flour
  • 1/2 to 1 cup dry white wine
  • 5 cups of water and 5 of vegetable broth (broth is a plus!)
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • Large pinch dried thyme
  • Large pinch ground mace (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon yeast extract (Marmite or Veggie Mite)

Putting everything together...

  1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sauté the onions until translucent (6 minutes) and then allow them to turn slightly golden.
  2. Sprinkle on the flour and stir in well, then add the wine and the water or broth.
  3. Boil for 20 minutes, low flame.
  4. Add condiments.
  5. Simmer for 5 minutes

Serve with croutons and/or rice, or just enjoy it as it is! Keep it for a few days; it gets better!
