Choice in our lives is continuous and everywhere. Suppose you are not feeling good at this exact moment. Instead, you have a heavy, down feeling. Sometimes you don't want to deal with this feeling or dig deeper and see what this heaviness is all about right away. You would rather do that later. That's fine, but right now you want to feel great; maybe you even need to feel great. Perhaps you have an important meeting or other event coming up. Here's a simple trick to use to immediately change your reality: Be still and start repeating every positive word and feeling you can think of. For example, "I feel great. I feel brilliant. I feel happy, energized, powerful and wonderful. I feel excited and alive." Say each word as if you really mean it. Feel each word. You could continue like this: "I look great. I look beautiful. I look attractive. I look confident. I look interesting. I am powerful." After ten minutes you will have changed your mood and your own self-image and be on a higher, more positive vibration. This works. You can take action, choosing to change your reality right away at any time when you allow yourself a few moments, and decide to bring change. You can also change the atmosphere and the vibration in your environment very quickly. If you are in a room where there has just been a heated conversation, or the room makes you feel lazy, you could simply open the windows, or you could use this simple technique: Walk around the room and clap your hands two or three times in each corner. Then stand in the center of the room and clap your hands again. Now, wait a few minutes and repeat the same process. You will find that this time your clapping sounds a lot sharper and clearer. You have changed the vibration and ambiance of the room by breaking up the previous vibratory pattern. You will feel the difference. There might be a sense of more openness, and a more uplifting feeling present. On a daily basis, I suggest you include in your life this useful thought: "I am in perfect shape and perfect health." Use this thought even if it is not yet the truth. Just thinking this thought strongly once or twice a day will make a difference. By doing this you are creating that reality of perfect health. Using positive affirmation and thoughts, and developing a positive self-image on a regular basis, work best together. However, each small time spent in any of these ways brings positive results on some level. If you are ill or if the body has any kind of disease, a powerful affirmation that needs to be said every day is: "My body clears, heals and balances itself." I also recommend: "I can heal myself," "I am letting go of everything I no longer need," "I am ready for positive change," "I draw easily to myself all that I need." One of the most powerful affirmations is: "I love myself without condition." Use these affirmations as often as you need them; develop your own positive affirmations, whatever feels right for you at the time. The idea is, initially, to get into a positive, winning frame of mind to prepare and open yourself to self-healing. "I am of pure light and pure energy," is also a very good healing affirmation. It allows you to put yourself and your physical body into a less personal, more universal mode and to recognize yourself as one with the whole, the "all that is." This in turn allows you, on a psychological level, to become open to self-healing. Make up your mind that you are going to be well now. See yourself as well now. Visualize bright light flowing all through your body. See yourself as being whole, well and healthy. Keep going despite whatever physical factors are standing in your way. Let yourself really believe and know that anything is possible, don't just hope that things will work. Remember that any time a negative thought comes to you, look into it deeper and ask yourself, "Where is this thought coming from?" Don't give up. Keep asking questions because you do have the answers. It may take days or even longer to find the answers, but they will come because they are within yourself. Sometimes, people hold onto a particular problem for a reason. The reason can be that you feel the need for a barometer in your life to let you know and feel that you are really here, really present, alive and taking part in life, a reminder that you are real and so is everything around you. At times, people need to have this grounding feeling. Pain and ailments can be used in this way. It could also be that you only get this particular problem when you are tired and overdoing things, not taking care of or making time for yourself, or that your life is not working in any number of other ways. Be aware and check out this possibility. If you do see and feel that you are holding on to ailments, know that you also have the choice to say that you no longer wish to use pain in this way. Initially, after making this decision, you may need to find another barometer, a non-physical painless one, to let you know where and how you are within yourself at any given time. Positive thoughts and affirmations are now used daily by many people. But positive thinking still isn't understood or explored enough yet for real magic and lasting positive change to be enjoyed by everyone rather than just a few. It is a relatively new pathway, and there is a lot that must be taken into account in order for this process to work. Sheer will power and the desire for health, peace and happiness is a start, but not enough to bring that reality to ourselves collectively at this time. We still have many fixed boundaries within our consciousness and awareness. Anything is possible but we need first to discover, examine, and let go of all within us that says it is not. |

Note that the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control reports 3,228 death due to Medical Care (item h) and 276 deaths due to Adverse Effects of drugs (item p). For that same year of 1998, the National Academy of Sciences reported that 98,000 Americans die by medical errors, and the Journal of the American Medical Association reported that an estimated 106,000 Americans died in 1998 in hospitals from drug side effects. Let's add some numbers: The National Academy of Sciences and the Journal of the American Medical Association report that 204,000 Americans died in 1998 because of Medical Errors and Drugs Side Effects. The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control reports that 3,504 Americans died in 1998 because of Medical Errors and Drugs Side Effects. How can we have such a huge difference? Are we being mislead by the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control?
