Focusing is an important aspect of developing your awareness and your psychic and healing abilities. First, you need to be clear, you need to get focused. To be clear means to be without distraction nor obstructions. To be focused means to have your mind and visions fixed on one particular point. So you will need something to use as a focus: a crystal prism would be great, a crystal pyramid, ball, tear drop, some kind of shape which is faceted. A fire could be used as a focus, a bowl of water, you might draw a spiral on the wall. You need something that you can look at, and "go into", rather than something which faces you flat and head on, something with depth, which allows your gaze and ultimately your mind to go into that depth. Another simple way is your own eyes, look into a mirror, into your own eyes.
Sit comfortably, take long slow and deep breaths, make sure you are relaxed, no watch on, and no crossed legs or arms. Select a point of your chosen focus, keep looking into it and just mentally say to yourself: "I am now letting go of everything I no longer need." Say this a few times and just keep looking. If you feel like closing your eyes after a while, do so. Just stay relaxed for a few minutes. That's all. Practice this, after a while, you may see colors or symbols, you may feel the speed which your mind is letting go or is traveling, but initially, don't be concerned with anything, only focusing your mind on one point and letting go. Also, do not try to clear your mind, it's a process which happens after a while automatically. So don't push. Take a few minutes or up to ten the first time you try this practice, not more than around three times a week. Take it slowly, there is no hurry, everything in good time.
Apart from going to a professional, such as myself, and having your aura and energy centers cleared and balanced, this is something you can do at home. Take off all jewelry, find a peaceful and quiet spot where you won't be disturbed, wear comfortable loose fitting clothes. Take a bowl or bucket and half fill with hot as you can stand water; place inside the water four big handfuls of sea salt, also some drops of either pure lavender - lilac - or rose - oil, whichever you prefer. Have a towel ready and more hot water, if necessary. Sit on a chair with a high back and place your feet in the water, don't cross arms or legs. Breathe deeply from the bottom of your stomach, place hands flat upright on your knees; imagine that the top of your head is open. Close your eyes and think of yellow. Surround yourself with bright yellow light energy and color, and breathe this color deeply, all through your body. Feel very calm and relaxed, and stay this way for around 20 minutes. If you feel very clogged up or blocked, either spiritually, emotionally or physically, do this twice a week for a month, otherwise once a month should be fine.
After finishing this exercise, just imagine a pyramid or circle of bright light completely surrounding your body from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. This is psychic protection. Like a new car, you have just polished, you don't want it to be immediately covered with dust, so you protect it, so with your physical and astral bodies. You have different chakras - energy centers - throughout your body: your stomach one is emotions, your heart is openness, your throat is communication, and so on, you also have one underneath your feet, base chakra, one at the bottom of your spine where life is stored, one in your forehead or third eye, and one at the top of your head, crown chakra. Try to feel how they are, what colors they look or feel. If you see dark colors or feel imbalance, simply visualize bright light going to that particular center and balancing it. There are many ways to balance and cleanse the aura and chakras, this simple one works and you can do it alone. You need to be clear on all levels, when you wish to go foreword and develop your own psychic abilities.
We often do not realize just how sensitive we really are. We pick up all kinds of thoughts, feelings and impressions from others, so how can you tell what is coming from you and when you are being affected by others? A simple way is this: each morning, for at least two weeks, have a piece of paper and pen by your bed side and when you wake ask yourself how do you feel. Write down the answer, then note what was your first thought of the day and write that down too. If you feel blank, this is fine, just write that down and tell yourself that you are going to live today from this blank moment and not bring in everything from yesterday. If you feel dreadful and you have time, sit down and ask yourself why do you feel bad, and then use positive visualization and affirmations to correct the situation, do not allow yourself to feel that you are a victim or that there is nothing that you can do, because for sure you can change things; it is just a matter of time, even sending bright light or yellow color to the situation will make a difference. If you need to rush out and leave the house, just say out loud or in your mind as many high words as you can think of. High words are like "I feel brilliant, amazing, fantastic, positive, powerful, calm, etc."
By finding out how you really are and feel first thing in the morning, you will be able to see how other people affect you as you meet them and are around them. Then you can begin to stand back and see that you are probably OK, you just need to be more aware of how much you are empathic with those around you. This will also give you a lot more idea of how your positive and negative thoughts can affect you and others. With these things in practice and in mind you will be on the way to developing not only your awareness but your own positive reality.
